Sport At Our School

The PE and Sports Premium is a government initiative that provides additional funding to primary schools to help improve the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity. This funding is ring‑fenced, meaning it can only be spent on PE and sport within school.

At Kinnerley Primary School, we believe that PE and sport play a vital role in supporting our pupils’ physical health, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and happiness. We are committed to offering a rich and varied programme that encourages every child to be active and develop a lifelong love of movement.

Our aim is to provide:

• A balanced and engaging PE curriculum

• Opportunities for pupils to develop a wide range of physical skills
• Activities that promote teamwork, resilience, and enjoyment
• Experiences that help children build healthy habits for life

We use our Sports Premium funding carefully to:

• Ensure all pupils access high‑quality PE lessons

• Increase participation in sports clubs, physical activity sessions, and enrichment opportunities

• Enable pupils to take part in competitions, festivals, and events with other local schools

This funding helps us ensure that as many children as possible are active, confident, and enthusiastic about PE and sport.

We are pleased to have developed a range of local partnerships, including the Marches Academy Trust, the 4all foundation, the Corbet school, Oswestry school swimming, Bikeability, Reading the Game, Crucial Crew, Shrewsbury Town in the Community, The Shrewsbury Club Tennis.
