As a church school we are periodically required to undergo a SIAMS inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist schools).
What is the purpose of a SIAMS inspection?
A SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school’s Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish.
Our latest inspection took place in April 2024 and we were delighted with the outcomes. The experience felt celebratory of our whole school community and what we are about.
The report states that ‘Kinnerley is a small school with big ambitions. Everyone is welcome. The lived reality of the Christian vision is evident throughout and underpins all decisions that are taken.’ Crucially it recognises that ‘adults and pupils flourish.’
Please take the time to read the report for yourself below. Hopefully it will give you a flavour of our school.
Our two action points were to:
Further deepen pupils’ current understanding of spirituality and cultivate a shared language to explore this.
Extend pupils’ independent opportunities to be agents of change.
Both of these were recognised as areas of progress already and of course we are keen to continue with this.
